Just curious to see what apps everyone is using on their Android devices... Here's mine to begin with:

I omitted some like RunKeeper, Spotify, and SoundHound, but I use those too.

Productivity

Andie Graph - A TI graphing calculator emulator that supports the various models. Probably the mot useful app I've ever had, especially since I had to sell mine to buy the iPhone 4 when it came out.

Any.DO - A beautiful to do list. Compared to the iOS version, the Android app looks and feels much better. The widgets are awesome too.

doubleTwist Alarm - A cool alarm with a analog and digital clock that you can dock.

Evernote - Keep all my lecture notes/snippets here.

Impression - Sweet writing app for Samsung Galaxy devices.

Memo - A clone of S Memo for Samsung Galaxy devices running custom ROMs without TouchWiz.

MobisleNotes - Another great note application with a web interface and iOS app too.

Studious - IMO, the best student planner on Android, the features are SO good.

News/Social

Flipboard - News app of choice.

Scope - Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Instagram and Tumblr client.

The Verge - The official app for my favorite website. :p.

XDA-Developers - A client for the forums, couldn't live without it.

Music/Radio

doubleTwist Player - My music, video, and podcast player of choice that works with AirPlay.

Stereomood - Mood based indie music streaming radio.

TuneIn Radio Pro - My radio app of choice.

Weather

BeWeather Pro - A great weather app with beautiful animated visuals, notifications for severe weather, and detailed chart.

Ourcast - Social weather reporting.

StormEye - A radar for looking at nearby storms.

Sunny - Another simple weather app.

Weather Eye - From the same guy who made Wallbase - Time Clark does an app called Pocket (lets you store sensitive data like bank info and logins) and Colors, both very nice apps. Weather Eye is excellent, in early stage, but the widgets, icons, and overall app are cool.

Weather Neue - A minimalistic weather app.

Customization/Essentials

Google Chrome - My browser of choice.

Pattrn - Wallpaper app powered by the COLOURlovers API.

Power Toggles - I use it to display music controls, but you can use it for application shortcuts and to put toggles to turn on Bluetooth, 4G, etc.

Solid Explorer - The best looking file manager at the moment, very feature rich, but simple.

Wifi Hotspot & USB Tether Pro by SVTP - My tethering app of choice. Simple and works awesome. 100% worth the $14.99 price tag. I use it with both Kindles, my MBP when the power goes out, and just about any device I have that needs internet when I'm on the go or without a wifi connection.

Wallbase HD Wallpapers - The best wallpaper app for Android. Beautiful stuff, great variety.

Your turn! :D

What carrier do you have? They haven't flagged your account for tethering?

Anyone recommend a budgetting app? Looking to switch to android?

Any.DO - to do list
Stock Galaxy S3 browser (chrome has a battery drain bug, otherwise I would use it)
Flip board - news
Tapatalk - forum browser
SwiftKey - keyboard
Apex - launcher

Tasker - enables complete automation and you can script your own events. For example, when I plug in my headphones Tasker automatically opens Spotify for me. When I connect to my cars blue tooth, it opens Spotify, sets volume to full and disables my pattern lock so that I can use S Voice over blue tooth.

The usual Facebook twitter etc.

AT&T, I have the 3GB plan. I think the fact that I probably only use it once in awhile, and not everyday like some of the people getting flagged do, maybe two times a week, is why they haven't flagged me yet. But I do use Netflix, YouTube, and download without issues.

Going to have to look into that!

Some favorite widgets:

  • Smooth Calendar - shows my daily events in a 4x1 box
  • Moon Phase - shows phase plus click shows more info
  • Rain Alarm - shows distance, strength, coverage of rain, buzzes if close. Click for radar view that's nicer than the old Radar Now app that I used to use. Has amazing amount of world coverage.

Is there something comparable to activator for ios?

I'm not sure, but a lot of apps will let you do similar things. You can stick Power Toggles to the Notifications and have it lock your screen, etc. Android lets you link to Activities within apps too by default, so you can easily set different buttons for opening up the dialer, go straight to the compose e-mail page in GMail, and whatever else.

Maybe you prefer it that way, but just in case you didn't know, you can sort your apps alphabetically through the options in the app drawer.

Yea I know, I'm just used to where this are already at. Plus I usually open apps from my homescreen folders.

- Nova Launcher
- Poweramp (very nice music player.... on par with iPod in some ways)
- Sometimes I use Friendcaster instead of Facebook... (you can upload pics to different albums for the former)
- Dolphin Browser... a better browser than chrome in my opinion... better tab browsing and faster.
- Whatsapp... seems like a better version than iPhone's
- Gmail mail app
- Tasker (though I still haven't used it much yet)
- Dogcatcher for podcasts

Those are my favorite
