I am looking for an app/apps to do the following:

- record my or other peoples voices (used to record lectures/speeches by teachers and myself)

- record video that I am streaming

- record audio that I am streaming

you can use Audacity to record audio, Screenflow to record your screen, or Camtasia Studio to record screen and/or audio
Audacity is free while Screenflow and Camtasia are paid

I just tried screenflow, it is pretty good. The only problem is that if i just want to record a speech it records what is going on, on the screen the whole time. there is no option to just record audio thru the mic

Try Camtasia then. It lets you choose whether to record the screen, the mic, the webcam or any combination of the three.
If you're looking Just for sound recorder, try Audacity.

+1 for the post above, everybody uses all of these paid programs when quicktime which comes on your mace does all of these things easier and simpler.
