I saw this image

and was confronted with a confusion as to what could be the angled, G5-style looking thing. A strange thick monitor? The new iMac? Both of those unlikely to a very high degree... then what? Maybe it is just a G5 PM at an angle I'm unfamiliar.

No prizes for the first most likely answer, unfortunately. :)

Don't get your hopes up...

I think it is a 17" or 19" Apple CTR, used on G3 towers.

(a friend of mine has the 19" light blue one)

Close, but I believe this is the grey version introduced with the first generation G4's

Hey, give me a break, I'm not an expert on 17" and 19" Apple cathode ray tube monitors. ;) :p

And I just assumed that those kinds of CTRs were sold at the time of G3 towers because my friend bought the CTR and tower at the same time.

Edit: I just checked mactracker, and instead of a 19" CTR, it was a 21" one.

apple never made a 19. there was a 17 and a 21

I can't believe I didn't recognize that one... it's my monitor!

17" CRT

No, I'm not the one in the pictures though ;)
