What AppleWatch can do as a standalone product?

I like the idea of smartwatch, moreover if it is from Apple.
However, I would like to know what it do can offline without iPhone.

other things like music, messages, calendar will require iPhone.
So what it can do unteethered, as a standalone product?

Surely, it can show time; the Apple website says it keep time well; It can measure movement for sure, heartbeat too; what else? the more I think of Apple Watch, I can't find many justifications for its separate existence from iPhone.

The more I read about it, the more I find it is the same of other smart watches available on the market, with an added value: the worst design available. Motorola and LG watches with their round design are far better than the apple watch and its not symmetric crown. Apparently, without the iPhone it can only track the time and your heart beat. Maybe music. Hoping that for the next keynote they will show something more

Yes it will require BT headphones (and I'm sure Beats would be glad to help ).

Exactly is a BIG unknown and just like any device would depended on the number of Apps/other data stored. I have a theory that Apple will offer the Sport in 2 or more sizes. Maybe a 4GB and an 8GB models.

Beats do have some sports bluetooth headsets,
powerbeats wireless.
don't know how good they are.

Anyway, its clear for music now, either 4 or 8 Gb which leaves half available for music. Compared with old ipod nano, its fine, its bluetooth and wireless, so its good. What else?
