I always have my eye on the next Surface Pro to see if it will fit my needs but aside from the fact that they can’t make their pens draw a straight line after all of these years, there are a couple of apps that hold me in the iPad ecosystem.

Nomad Sculpt and Procreate.

If a full Fusion 360 app and Adobe apps would ever get released I would be in heaven.

What are some other iPad apps that are unique to iPad or just better on iPad?

Is changing device orientation seamless on Windows now? That was one of the things that bugged me when I tried Windows tablets. There was like a 5-second pause before it would switch between landscape and portrait.

Also the fact that most Windows programs I used were designed for mouse pointer rather than fat fingers.

For me, it wasn't just specific apps but rather the entire tablet experience.

Now I haven't tried Windows tablets recently so I don't if/how much things have improved.

The versatility of the device still astounds me. I’ve had iPads for 15 years now, and it gets better and better every year. I can slap it on the MKB and it’ll do 95% of my computing tasks. I can watch shows on it while cooking/eating, draw on it, journal, play games, and a million other things. The iPad is by far my most used device. The integration with the Apple ecosystem as a whole is also awesome. When I’m working, I don’t have to pick up my phone to answer a text or call - it’s all done on the iPad.

Outside of what an iPad can do, the device itself is also appealing. I have bigger hands, and the 13” works great for me as a tablet with the thinner/lighter design of the M4 Pro. The tandem OLED screen is beautiful, and the nano texture looks and feels pristine. I have very, very few complaints about this device. And that list gets smaller and smaller with each update.

For me it's primarily content consumption for various streaming services and then general browsing. I have a Surface Pro 9 for other computing as well as a couple of other Windows machines. I just like iOS devices for general stuff since they are convenient to carry around and the integration of the Apple ecosystem makes things so convenient (iPhone, iPad, Watch, AppleTV, Airpods etc.). I could surely do the same with Android but i find the UI on iOS generally cleaner. There's certainly always room for improvement on any platform though.

The iPad Pro M4 Screen is so sharp and beautiful. Photos look amazing on it and since we never print photos anymore it is nice to have display larger than my iPhone and better than my 32" BenQ SW312c. Now that Capture One app is almost caught up to the desktop in features, it makes the idea of editing on an iPad appealing. Plus, the fact that I can not download Netflix or other streaming services to my MacBook Pro, makes it desirable for travel.

Flexibility of using tablet or keyboard mode. Size. Access to apps.

I'm still frustrated by how to use tablets as compared to a computer, even with the new window mode, but I have both so... it's become second nature to know what things I should be doing on a computer and what things i should be doing on an ipad.

Essential Apps:
AUM.
Nembrini Acoustic Voice.
(Various Effects) from Kymatica
Audio Share
MultiTrackDAW
iMovie (I know I know)

Granted. Everything I named is available on the iOS as well.. but the iPad screen and size makes it A LOT more enjoyable to use. iMovie as well. It may be crippled in comparison to the Mac version, but I just prefer the speed I can do things with touch over a middleman of a trackpad and physical keyboard.
