I know many of you think there will be no more functionality coming to that computer built inside the Studio Display, but you are wrong. So let's discuss what features you want Apple to add, and what apps would you like to see developed (or ported) for it from 3rd parties?
Be creative, think different. Some people will always have a Mac Studio connected to it, some intermittent with a MacBook. Sometimes the display will be independent of the Mac, connected to not. It has a camera, mics, speakers, display.

”The iPad Pro getting M1 means that Apple will bring XYZ function to the iPad…… not”

TVOs would have been a better choice, frankly. Make it a stand alone smart TV, an Airplay target and a HomeKit hub.

What’s missing though is networking…. If they’d included a WiFi 6E link, that would have been nice. Could have served as a stand-alone unit and provided better wifi than one built into a metal box under the desk.

Well, let's see...there's no wifi card...so I'm gonna have to go with Chess, Checkers, and Sudoku. Oh, can't forget the Calculator too!

Considering there is no wifi card, apps would be pretty limited. Having Apple TV and AirPlay built-in would have been cool, but that ain't happening. (Unless they make a USB-C wifi dongle, but I don't see them doing that.) No sense in doing the networking through your connected Mac either, because you might as well just run the app there. I just don't see the Studio Display being able to be used as a standalone device like Samsung's M8 Smart Monitor.
