OK, so in anticipation :D of getting my iPad, what apps are worth installing or looking out for? Note that since I'm UK based and not keen on team sports (but keen on the outdoors type sports like climbing), suggestions for NFL or NHL apps aren't going to be appropriate :p

I already have the following:

Twitter
Kindle
BBC iPlayer

Plus quite a few of my iPhone apps are listed as being suitable for the iPad in iTunes.

Anything essential or quirky worth considering?

soundhound, facebook, forusquare, paypal, newegg, ebay, Remote, Pandora, GT Racing, Cut the Rope, Decibel, Speedtest, Inception, RedLaser etc.

Netflix
Icab (better browser than Safari)
Friendly (the Facebook app, till FB gets off its arse and makes their app iPad compatible)
Vevo
Mashable
Plants vs Zombies
Dictionary.com
Pages
Firefox home
Stumbleupon
Evernote
Appstart

First and foremost: Evernote
It provides the ability to keep your notes and ideas, accessible from any device, or computer.

From there I encourage you to explore the app store. It's fun and you'll discover what you like :)

By heck, that were quick!

Evernote and appstart look interesting - downloaded and waiting.

As for searching the app store, a lot of the lists seem to be self perpetuating so once something is in the top 200 of free/paid/staff faves/top grossing then it will stay there. The store needs a random selection function (it may already have one but I can't see it)

iCab
Friended
DropBox
Netflix
Flipboard
Zite
Twitter
AppShopper (Lists new apps and price changes, etc.)
