What are my chances of finding a 32gb 5s in NYC

I am living in Australia, but am still on the family plan contract with ATT with my family in NYC. I am coming to visit this Friday for 2 weeks and am considering picking up an 5s 32gb 5s to take back with me to Australia. I don't really care what color, but would prefer a space grey. What would you guys recommend i do to secure one in my 2 weeks back?
My grandma is using my old number in NY so i wouldn't be cancelling the account or anything. Also anyone know if ATT would unlock it for me if i tell them i'm going overseas for a visit or would i need to unlock via eBay?

Since you want space grey it shouldn't be impossible.
There is supposedly pickup at store from online starting tomorrow or Tuesday.
You can go to either AT&T or apple. AT&T only had space grey or around 90% of their in store stock was space grey. You can try at Walmart, best buy, radio shack also.

If you buy 5S off-contract/in full, it's unlocked.

If you go with ATT plan, they'll unlock it for you for free.

With T-Mobile you need 14 days of service with them.

I already have a plan with ATT, but not sure if they would unlock it right away or I would have to wait a few months. Hmm I guess I'm going to have to talk to my mom and see what we could arrange.

you'll need to buy T-Mobile contract-free phone from Apple. Make sure you purchase one from the Apple Store and not from a T-Mobile store.

I've decided I'm going to decide what to do once I'm in NYC. If i can pick one up and unlock it, great, if not, I'll wait till my 4s dies and I'll try again. No big.

can't. The 200$ version is locked to ATT, so i would have to ask for an unlock.
