I have an iPhone 4 with 5.1 on it. What are my options for Jailbreaking? What is recommended? From what I have read JB'ing 5.1 one does not seem very reliable and there doesn't seem to be an untethered version yet. Just need some advice before I proceed. Thanks

One option, Redsn0w gives a tethered jailbreak
iClarified.com has tutorials

Cool thanx that's backs up what I've found. Guess I'll give it a try.

The 5.1 JB on the i4 is a tethered JB and it is reliable.
Up to you if you want to wait for an utethered version or go for it.
You can always restore to stock 5.1 if you dont like it.

W/ the tethered JB, do you need to be connected to a computer when you install a tweak, etc. & need to respring, or only when you truly power the phone off?

Also, OP, there is an option to semi-tether after JB'ing 5.1. If you power the phone down while away from a computer, this will allow you to run stock 5.1 (albeit w/out email & another feature if I recall) until you get back to a computer to boot properly.

How and where do I find the instructions for this semi tethered JB?

Perhaps you could update us on your outcome ?

Was it easy
Does the tethered jb work ok

Dud you remain stock ?

Okay so I used redsnow win_0.9.10b6. Everything seemed to be fine at first but the home button started acting up. It wouldn't work most of the time. So trying to reboot the phone wasnt working since i had to enter DFU mode every time. I did a factory restore through iTunes and the home button is fine now.
