Continuing my damage control for the post storm check on my imac.
What are the usual operating temperatures with the imac after some web browsing "including watching youtube videos for a few hours"?
Because before the storm I did not keep track of the temperatures of the imac all that to closely. But I noticed last night that it got rather warm on the GPU "almost 80 degree!" and I do not recall it ever getting that hot before the storm. Even after playing Gmod for several hours. Whats bad is that all I was doing was usual web browsing and watching youtube videos.
Again the only cable that was attached to the mac, other than the keyboard, was the ethernet cable. The mac had been totally unplugged from the surge protector.
Really though... if lightning would had managed to actually get to my mac, would it had taken out the Ethernet port before anything else. Since my Ethernet is still working then does that mean I lucked out and my mac came out unharmed?
Anyways I apologize for being such a nag about this, but my last day to return the mac was literally the day the lightning stuck and the closest apple store and service center is like 1000 miles away.
