So what are our options for launch? I know options are limited, but im looking for a temporary case until the big names start shipping out legit ones.

Case haters need not respond

best buy will have cases at launch. (held
one in my hand today)

otterbox, lifeproof, incase and case mate still working on theirs for an early October launch.

I ordered one from X-Doria yesterday, but not sure how many they have left - I ordered the chevron looking one in black, but they appeared to be out of most/all of the other colors. Not sure about stock of any of the other models. My order confirmation email made it sound like it would ship out within a few days of my order.

When I looked around not a lot of the case makers were selling yet, but many were showing what they were GOING to offer, or you could preorder. Case-mate, Otterbox, etc.

I had a look on the http://phone-size.com/?s=27 site and found the Sony Experia Arc is almost the size of the 5, with a couple of millimeters extra all round, so I bought this for £2.85 inc shipping:

really?? Awesome! Still want a case though. They ain't gonna repair the tiniest scratch that would bother the hell out of me considering the amount of dollar I just dropped on it.

I am going for a case because I like personalizing things if I can. I am also rough on my devices. I'm undecided about AppleCare+ though.

Really?!!! That sucks :confused: sorry to hear :(

Yep. Apple needs to step up its international game. It's not just AppleCare+ (which I would have bought for my 4S), but also some features in Siri and the new maps program are missing in the UK. Mind you Apple is not the only parochial company: Flixster's iPhone UK app for some reason has a feature for finding the nearest 7-11, which for me is across the Atlantic...
