The treehouse in the backyard
Recently I read in the Panther thread about someone fixing their 'PreBindings". This the first I've heard of this. Did figure out (by reading MR) what "Permissions" were and how to fix them but the PreBindings are a first. Does Disk Utility fix them and how do you know if they need fixed. I'm not a programmer just a user.

I'm not sure what prebindings are, but you can update them by typing this at a terminal:

sudo update_prebinding -root /

Prebindings are also updated when you install software (it says that it's optimising performance).

Now that was helpful, Anytime you download and Apple update and you see "Optimizing" the machine is repairing the prebindings.

Thanks
