I'm using You Control Tunes to have a scrolling ticker in my menu bar display what I'm playing in iTunes; however, it doesn't load up automatically on startup, which is a nuisance as I Boot Camp a lot now.

Are there any other menu bar apps that also feature a ticker?

Cheers.

Just go to Preferences and check "Run Menu Engine at user login". It will automatically launch on startup.

Does it appear in your Login Items in System Preferences, under your account?

No, it didn't. So then I added it manually in Login Items, but that causes the app's window to open on boot. Presumably, if I check the "Hide" check box in Login Items, that'll merely send it to the dock, taking up space.

If you check to hide it, it should only appear on the Menu Bar. The best way to know for sure is to test it.
