I am just making sure I'm not missing out on any(kind) of great software... so I'd appreciate it if you guys could nominate a couple of 'em that you find pretty cool :)

It is the open source foundation for several certified medical imaging softwares used by many countries, mostly in europe.

It is free for research purposes. It is a much more aesthetic and easier to use alternative to ImageJ (http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/)
