I have been looking to buy some new headphones for my iPhone and want to know what you guys would recommend? Thanks

Got refurbished Beats Solo HD for 100...on monstercable outlet store..very good price i'd say, and there was also a 50 percent coupon for whole store last week, not sure if still out there but they are still 100 for refurbs

Earbuds = Yuin PK2 (the PK1 sounded the same to me when unamped, and this sounds better than any IEM I can think of that doesn't cost an arm and leg)

Closed headphones = Audio-Technica ATH-M50

I've got solo hd's in white. Absolutely love them, they sound great and the gloss white matches both the products they're used with

I'm wearing my Solo HDs right now and they're fairly decent but very overhyped. If you want a cool brand, get Beats, but otherwise look elsewhere and you'll likely get better value. I honestly think I'd have better sounding headphones if I'd got a pair from a slightly more obscure, but higher quality, brand (the build quality of Solo HDs is terrible).

I have an older pair of Sennheiser PX 200. Lightweight and very portable. They have a new version with 3 button mic out now which i'm considering.

I think the secret to good headphones is proper burn-in. I always burn mine for 100 hours before I use them. And there's an app for that. Ive burnt a couple of friends headsets and they raved about how much better the sound was.

This is a load of crock. It's all placebo effect. If you blind-folded your friends, they wouldn't be able hear the difference between 2 of same pair of headphones but one with 100 hours of use.

That's like saying astrology works because your friends swear by it.

The PX 200's are good headphones though. I owned a few pairs. The build quality isn't exactly great on those either, however, so keep that in mind. I went through about three pairs in a few years.

I think for that sort of money you'd pick up the Earsonics SM2 or the Fischer Audio DBA-02.

Both excellent for that sort of money.

+1 on the M50s...i wish i would have done more research before purchasing my Shure 440s. Shures are awesome for the money but just a little light on bass for my personal tastes.

Another vote for ATH-M50's. I have a set that i'm debating selling since I don't use them much anymore.

m50's are super. But they do not have mic/remote. If you do choose this, select the coiled cord as the straight cord is very long.

I'm using senn px100 with mic. They are open, cheap, very comfortable and portable as they fold and sound is good (but not m50 good) and convenience of mic/remote. They are bassier than the px200 hence i went for px100 option.

thought i'd toss these into the mix. got them got $80.

UrbanEars Plattan. a little tight on the ears over time, but they block out a lot of sound, look superb, lots of colours to choose, sounds great by my standards (not saying too much). They are an on ear headphone. IMO, the Dre and other musician headphones (i think kanye has a set now, or some other guy) are overhyped any way over priced.
