iPhone What are the chances of a 6.1.4 JB?

I know iOS 7 is coming out soon. I’ve seen previews of it and I want nothing at all to do with it. It’s butt-ugly. I didn’t buy a windows phone, I bought an iPhone. I intend to stick with whatever iOS BELOW 7.0 that is jail breakable.

I’m currently on 6.1 with my Verizon iPhone 5 and I’m more than satisfied with it. I do not want to “upgrade” to 7, ever.

I’ve read scuttlebutt that a JB for 7 is in the works. True or not, I don’t care.
I’ve also read that Apple is going to slam the door hard on jailbreaking in 7 because it’s supposed to be part of their promise to prevent “Apple Picking”..


But will the geniuses that write this stuff abandon the 6.x hangers-on?

I wouldn’t object to upgrading to 6.1.2, .3 or .4, IF a jailbreak becomes available.

What are the chances? Anyone have any good, educated guesses on jailbreaking?
 
Why not wait for an iOS 7 jailbreak and then just skin it to look like iOS 6?

I can only really see the problem being with the icons/white theme as I can't see anyone objecting to the features like Control Centre, Airdrop etc.

Those can all be changed with a jailbreak.

Also, have you actually tried iOS 7? I hated the look at first but when actually using it, it makes iOS 6 look archaic. It's leaps and bounds better than iOS 6. Sure, there are a few niggles but it's well worth it.
 
I'm pretty sure there would be a 6.1.4 JB due to an iOS 7 jailbreak. It's only logical because if the exploit is in iOS 7 then it'll be on the lower firmwares also. Even Evad3rs tweet about it. I'm with you with not wanting to a part of the ugliness that is iOS 7. I'm currently stuck on the 6.1.4 firmware because i had to exchange my broken jailbreaked iphone 5 for a new one.

It's not logical: with new firmware comes new exploits. Most JB are specificly written for a certain exploit and/or firmware version.

I said in Chengdu that when an iOS 7 jailbreak is released, we will backport it to support iOS 6.1.3 and 6.1.4. My hosts asked me to clarify that point since apparently people on those firmware versions are panicking that staying on those versions means they can never jailbreak. That's all.

So the only difference between IOS and Windows phone is the appearance (which, as pointed out, can be modified via JB)?

I'm pretty sure she's referring to the bright colors and not the firmware functions/features...

But you are right. You can always theme iOS 7 once its jailbroken!
