Hello,

I've been planning to scrap my desktop for the new retina MacBook Pro and I'm looking to get the Thunderbolt Display as a home monitor and docking station. The only thing that held me back from adding to cart with the rMBP was that the USBs are 2.0 on the TDB. I can see myself making use of the docking station if it's 3.0 like putting a 4TB external for Time Machine or a USB 3.0 Lexmark CF card reader. It's just a minor inconvenience that if I get the TBD now I would have to connect those 3.0 peripherals directly to the rMBP instead.

So my question is, do you think I should wait for the next TBD? and does anyone remember if the TBD came out right when they announced Thunderbolt? if not, how long before?

Or should I just say screw it and add to cart :D

Very interested in this myself. I'd have to expect the TBD to be updated with Mag Safe 2 and USB 3 pretty soon, though.
