SSD is too small to hold the Home Folder so I will move the Home Dir to another HDD, but what are the hassles or dangers? My other option is keep Home on the SSD, but move out the big data folders like Pictures, Movies, Music, Documents.

Thanks for your ideas and opinions.

You should never do this. Think of it like moving your windows system folder and something tells me if you have to ask (before googling) you should really not be thinking of doing this.

Your analogy is terrible and false. It is more like, moving your user folder in Windows. Which, you can do. And you can also do it in OS X.

Here are two articles covering this topic.

The only real risk that I can think of is anything that expects your home folder to be in /Users. In that case, contact the developer and have them add this potential scenario to their code.

To avoid this potential (but unlikely) issue. You can create a symlink in /Users.

Good news, so it's ok to do it. Right I only use Apple software . . . Final Cut so they wouldn't expect and would know where my Home folder is located.

I read that updating your OS could cause problems if your Home isn't on your boot drive. And also if your Home folder on a RAID striped array.
