I was only gonna possibly get it if it had a wider screen, and 4g. and no decrease in battery life

I don't have a 4s but I think if the ones who do want 4G or a bigger screen that will influence them the most. Is it worth the upgrade for either of those? In my opinion probably not...

What would have enticed me was the LTE and screen size (from my trusty iP4).

That and if they designed it as an aggressive black bad ass phone!!

"What are the major things that will bring people from 4s to 5?"

Well, let me list them.

Size - oops, we do not know this yet
Screen - oops, we do not know this yet
Resolution - oops, we do not know this yet
Price - oops, we do not know this yet
Carrier terms - oops, we do not know this yet
Memory - oops, we do not know this yet
Processor - oops, we do not know this yet
Latest whiz bang whatchamcallit - oops, we do not know this yet

Okay, we have some RUMORS and IDEAS, but how can anyone answer this until it is released?

Being the newest iphone is good enough for me. But I'm one of those guys that need the newest shiniest models.

We don't know nearly enough about the next iPhone to make any guesses.... especially since there's bound to be a few features that will only work with the 5.

I can see the op's question went straight over your head. He's asking what would it take for you to upgrade, not what we know for a fact we're getting.

To OP's point: we know pretty much what we are getting and I'm not sure any of it is enough to get me to upgrade. 4.3" screen would.

I'm getting the 5 first day of release regardless, but what would REALLY get Apple in my wallet is a 128GB version of IPhone 5. That way I can retire my year old, cracked screen iPod touch and sell my 64GB iPhone 4S and just use the IP5 as my main music/camera/app unit....

Nothing I've seen so far will entice me away from my 4S. I have no interest at all in LTE or NFC or larger screens.

Guess I'm just an old coot who's very satisfied with what I have.

Now 'scuse me for I'll be gettin' along out to the gee-rahge and fire up the ole Tin Lizzie... ayup, by gum...

It's not that I dislike the rumored 5; rather, I'm still tickled pink by my 4S and see no reason to replace it. I'll get a new phone when the current one no longer meets my needs.

We know just about everything about the phone except for maybe TWO surprises.

We know about everything you listed except the "latest whiz bang..."

We haven't heard anything about the processor, ammount of RAM, storage options, or anything about either camera.... Not to mention any extra suprises that it's abound to have.

The biggest new feature is being able to taze someone that has an Android or Blackberry.

Also the new flirt button, if you see someone you like you just point and click...

Nothing. Why would I want to buy a re-release of the iPhone 4? That's just silly :p

^ Exactly. As long as it's Apple, I'll be purchasing.

Call me a fanboy... I am. I love Apple, it's devices, and how they work seamlessly. :apple:
