I am thinking of jumping into the Apple Watch crowd and noticed a few "buyers remorse" watches for sale on Craigslist. I am guessing there are folks that bought them as fad and barely used them, so could get a bargain.

What risks do I need to be concerned about, other than it may be damaged or broken?

heres what I recently did.. I picked up a 42mm stainless steel for $240 it had the box and everything.. guy bought it from someone else then deiced he wanted SGS, didn't realize he had applecare+ on it .. I called in with an issue and they sent me a new one and transferred the watch into my name. (didn't even have to use one of the AC+ claims either!)

Craig's List has many watches Apple watches for sale in my city. Not much risk as most have boxes and receipts. Many have AC+ purchased and if not you can buy it. When you meet the person check out the watch, pair it if in doubt. Youi can save a couple hundred bucks for sure.

That's what I was thinking. I am learning towards the Watch instead of Watch Sport; and the more they cost new, the harder they are to sell used so the discounts seem to be bigger.

What issue did you call in?

Other than what you've listed, like water damage or cracks or damaged bands, there's not not much... the Watch likely hasn't been used enough (or even available) to warrant battery concerns. You should be good.

You should have no problem finding what you want. A friend of mine just bought his through Craig's list and saved near $300. It came with an extra black leather loop and AC+ so you would be hard pressed to have that go wrong. He has already called and transferred the AC+ to his name.

He met them at a local Chick Filet and said it went smoothly. They had the original box and receipt from Apple.

Good Luck

That would be very cool. My problem is that so many Craigslist ads go unanswered when emailing them. Hopefully I find a live one.

I wouldn't get too worried about seeing a slew of people selling a watch on CL. It's either people who ran out to buy one without really knowing a lot about it, finding it wasn't what they expected (not an iPhone for your wrist.) or they simply bought one model, liked it but decided they wanted a different model (swapping from sport to SS or vice versa.)

If you're well aware of what it can do and can't do and it's intended use. I'd say jump on one if you see a good deal.

My personal favourite feature is being able to hook up my phone to a stereo and control the volume, skip songs, select a new playlist or artist/album from anywhere in the house on my wrist. (Also same feature is handy if you're out walking and listening to music via headphones. You can do all those changes without pulling the phone out of your pocket.)
