Im trying to access the Russian embassy website to arrange a tourist visa and keep getting these pop ups. What are they for? Im using the most up to date OS if that makes any difference.

LOL. It's not a trojan horse... it's the site asking for the security certificate to verify that you are who you say you are. Because you're visiting from another country, they use Trust Certificates. Some countries don't bother to do this, some do.
