Search the forums for this issue cause it seems it is common. And from what I have read Apple isn't resolving the issue.

From what I've read, it is just a temporary glitch, it should go away if you close, restart, or sleep your screen, I think...

Yeah you're right. Closing the screen and reopening it fixed it for some people. Possible video driver issue?

The mothership has come for you!!

On a serious note, I hear its a hardware issue from the manufacturing process. There was an article about the dell m1530's having this issues as well.

thats one long last name :D

mine has 9 letters :p

edit: oh is that you middle name really close to your last name? lol

altho u didnt buy it that way
I'm guessing it's safer to go to an apple store and buy your mbp there and test it before you bring it home, I'm gonna buy my first mac ever so I guess I'll be going to an apple store then

apple should really recognize the problem with these MBPs and release some update or something. Seems like its common now.

If you look at apple's history since the powerbook days.. the 15" always has some issues while the 17" almost always has none.

I thought it was interesting to bring this up. Especially the left speaker where the magsafe resides makes the sizzling noise.. bothered the hell out of me on the 15" mbp and headphone jack making the hissing noise.

I'm sorry but I am pretty new to MACS so I really don't know their back issues!!!!

I called apple care regarding video card issues (BEST SERVICE EVER BTW) and the tech told me to unplug everything, turn it off, pull out the battery, hold the on/off button down for 5 seconds, put the battery back in, restart and rock and roll.
So far so good. Another reassuring thing she said was that now, I at least have a refrence number if the problem progreses, it's easier to deal with. So, I suggest calling them just for the sake of it.
