I've been running a G3 with 10.3 for a long time, but I'm finally getting a new iMac with Leopard in a couple of days. So I've been out of the loop a bit when it comes to applications, and would like to get some ideas for when I get Leopard.

I always see pictures of people's Leopard dock with cool-looking icons that I don't recognise... This is a good way to find out what those indispensable gems are!

I'll start with:

Adium
Colloquy
Transmission
Toast 8 Titanium
Photoshop CS3

[Icons completely unnecessary!]

So what are your favourite, can't-do-without (non-apple) applications, whether commercial, shareware or freeware? :)

If you are going to be auditioning a lot of apps, I would recommend having AppZapper on hand. Great little tool.

Handbrake 0.9.1
Max 0.7.2
Unison 1.8
Mac the Ripper
UnrarX
MacPAR Deluxe
Xtorrent
Acquisition
Perian
Flip4Mac

The rest is Apple software but I'll list it anyway :).

Final Cut Studio
Logic Studio 8
iWork '08

These are my most used non-Apple apps (in no particular order)
Handbrake
BBEdit
CoRD
Zend Studio
Eclipse
VMWare Fusion
PixelMator
JBuilderX
Toast Titanium
Yojimbo

Thanks! I had forgotten about that.

Ahhh! Stop it! The point is to say what the apps are! ;)

Sorry totally forgot to write what they are called.

top one is called "What is playing" and the bottom is called "Album To Playlist" They are basically small applescript programs that I wrote. The first displays using SEC Helper a nice overlay on my screen to tell me what is currently playing in iTunes.

The second takes the currently playing song, then basically plays the album the song is from in order. I have two more on being favourites, which adds the current song to a playlist favourites and the second being ****. Which does the same but moves it to a different playlist.

These are all assigned to keys F1-F6 so i can quickly manage my iTunes library, in the way i like to, in any application i'm in.

suppose this means i can't live without Salling Clicker and OneKey as well, and apple script.

Thanks for that, some nice finds there. Could you tell me the (simple!) difference between Xtorrent and Acquisition? It's not immediately apparent from their respective sites — In fact they look practically identical !

In no particular order:

Sorry for the bump, but could someone answer this question? Thanks.

EDIT: Nvm. Xtorrent: torrents. Acquisition: P2P.

Probably could have worked that out sooner ;)
