I’m looking to build my screensaver library (The Apple ones have run their course for me) and was wondering if anyone would like to share their own favourites?

I’ve downloaded some, with mixed effect.

- The photo-realistic aquarium one, which I love! Does anyone know how it impacts battery life, though?

- The ‘flying toasters’, which doesn’t work on my macOS Sequoia MBP sadly.

- Another classic MacOS one with polygon shapes that look like a wireframe kaleidoscope; however I had to disable it as it was using 450mb RAM!

- Flip clock, which is really nice.

Way back in time, which in the computer world is about 25 years, I had a collection of screen savers. I really liked one called "Saw" which 'cut up' the screen into chunks that 'fell off' and 'shattered' when they hit bottom. Another classic is "Bill Gates Does Windows" in which an animated (of course) BG 'cleaned' the screen. I can't recall any others not mentioned that I had now.

Flying Toasters has always been a favorite of mine. I was delighted to find a version of it in xscreensaver, a venerable screen saver app in Linux. I discovered it after I installed MintPPC64 on my G5 Quad. The original looks better IMHO, but I am still pleased with the Linux rendition, and I have made it my default screen saver there.

I also got a BEAUTIFUL aquarium screen saver for my Mac Studio, but immediately discovered, after paying for said screensaver, that it only supported single monitor setups. I have two 27" monitors connected to my Mac Studio, and so this was a non starter. I eventually went back to one of the Apple ones that DOES work properly across two monitors.
