I am getting my iMac today and was wondering what's a good bluray drive I can buy? I'm not sure which are compatible. I would prefer to buy one at an electronics store.

The fastest (14x) BluRay writer would be the LG BE14NU40, and it doesn't look to shabby, either.

If all you want is a BluRay reader (and CD/DVD writer/reader), maybe the iClover?

Pretty much any standard USB external drive will work, especilly if it's a mainstream manufacturer it will be compatible. For over ten years I've used external optical drives from HP, LG, Toshiba with my Macs, that were all labelled as Windows only compatible, with out any problems.

But I recently picked up one of these from HP for ripping Bluray, inexpensive, matches the finish of the Macs very nicely and even does Lightscribe.
