Coming from a Series 4 and the Series 5 seems a tad dimmer than its predecessor. I had my Series 4 on the middle brightness setting, and I’ve turned it to the max on my Series 5 but a bit worried on how much this will effect battery life.

What setting are you using and have you noticed any significant battery trends?

I’ve noticed it’s dimmer, but mainly in the darker environments. I believe apple has implemented a more aggressive auto brightness, so that it dims more in lower light, saving battery for the always on

I was on the lowest setting, and am on the middle setting now. But it has to be on the highest setting to match my series 4 brightness.

I also noticed this. Even unpaired and setup as new to see if it was the software. It's noticeably dimmer. Annoying that you can't turn off the ambient light sensor like you can with iOS.

Middle. Seems the same as my S4 which also was middle.

be sure to compare apples to apples, the sapphire screens tend to be dimmer than the ion X glass

I always had it set at brightest on AW0-4, but after reading about battery issues on the S5, I changed it to middle. Will see.

Does it matter how you set it? Doesn't it auto brighten and dim depending on ambient temperature?
