I was under the impression that I needed a firewire cable to be able to transfer my itunes library from my old ibook G4 to my new iMac. However, neither end of the cable fits into the back of my iMac. Can anyone help?

might be a different size of firewire (400 or 800, not sure if they're the same size or not)

Maybe the iMac for some reason doesn't have Firewire, which would be odd.

Do yo have an external HDD? Also try an Ethernet cable between the two.

It's a Dynex Firewire 6/4-pin cable.
Something like this?

If so, one end of that should fit into your iMac: the bigger end. But that won't help the smaller end. What you need is a 6pin/6pin cable or a 4pin-to-6pin adapter.
