what camera works in place of iSight?

I want to get my friend an iSight for a gift, he has an older MacBook when they didn't have the built in cameras and obviously the iSight is no more...

So my question is will another firewire web camera work on a mac with ichat?
Any brands to recommend?

You mean an iBook? Well, assuming he has Tiger or later, an Xbox Live Vision Camera will work just fine.

Yes he has tiger, but no he has the 15" G4 book before they started calling them macbook's and started putting cameras in them. But really the xbox cam works? Affordable solution though thanks.

It's USB 2.0 but he should have a port for that.
