When you hook up an iPad to a TV via component or composite cables, are you limited to just the 'Photos', 'iPod' and 'Videos' areas to view? Or will other areas get displayed as well? Thinking of buying a set of components but I want to know how limited they are...

All iPod and video content, photo slideshows, YouTube videos and any app that supports DisplayOut. Some apps that don't will, however, pass audio through.

This is true for the composite ones I use.

Awesome!

Thanks! After doing some searching on Google for DisplayOut, I came across and app on Cydia that apparently does the entire device. For $2.99, looks like exactly what I was looking for.

Yeah I didn't think to mention it. I figured the built in ability would do most of what I wanted.
