What can I do here?

To make it short:

3gs, 3.1.3, bb 5.12

It currently has some sort of OS glitch which makes it freeze withing 5-10secs. of booting it. Trying to restore it (tried 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.1), can't because of error 3194. It has never been JB so no blobs to aid me here.

So what are my options here? Tried making a custom ipsw via pwnagetool but it won't pass itunes verification either. Really trying to avoid going 4.2 + 6.15 bb

Wait, what are you trying to do exactly? Unlock? or just jailbreak?

You need shsh if you want to restore to a lower firmware.

Also note, you don't need to jailbreak in order to save shsh blobs. Stock phones will save fine.

Looks like your only option is stay where you are at 3.1.3 or move to 4.2.1

Right now, the phone doesn't work properly. I bought it used from a friend. It has 3.1.3 stock. I want to update it to any 4.0, JB it and unlock it. I know how to do all this, I have a 3g. It's just that itunes won't let me restore it (tried both regular and custom ipsw of 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.1).


In the end, I just want it to restore it so that it works. After that I can handle the JB and unlock.

Like I said, you need shsh saved for the phone. Since you don't, your only choice is 4.2.1. (or stay on 3.1.3)

the 3g and 3gs methods are not the same.
