iPod touch What can Ipod Touch do

Hi

I've few questions to ask before I get an Ipod Touch 2.

1. I know that iPhone can use google map application even when you are outside, but how does ipod touch work if you are out side, dont you need wifi ?

2. Can you write your own application or create games for your own ipod touch without going to apple app distribution ?

3. whats good about ipodtouch 2 ?

1. needs wifi
2. dont think so maybe for cydia tho
3. speakers, vol control, safari, app store
 
it dose not have a camera but if some one sends u pictures you can download them and the touch will save them for you:) OOO and go to the apple store and go to i pod touch and there is a gided tore:):):cool:

it has more every thing!!!!! and it has a built in app store so u don't have to download it:):)
 
Thanks for the info. When will the 3rd generation Ipod touch come out ? Should I wait for the 3rd generation or get the 2nd generation now ?
 
The 2nd gen has only been out 2 weeks, so you're looking at a full year ahead until the possibility of a 3rd gen. Just get it, screw waiting 50 or so weeks.

2nd gen touch is actual 0.5 of a millimeter thicker than the 1st, it just looks thinner because it's tapered.
 
Did you do ANY research before asking questions? I'm pretty sure you could have had ALL of your questions answered just by looking at the description in the apple store.

Don't be so lazy.
 
If they come out something great next year, then I have to upgrade again. so it's a non stop upgrading! Where is the best place to get it, apple store, apple online store, amazon, bestbuy?

Your information could have been found out a lot easier than this.
And why would you bother asking when the 3G iPod touch will come out when the 2G was just released???
The new things about it are speaker, tapered edges, better battery life, and very nice price drop.
Plus you won't have to pay for the 2.1 upgrade like you would if you had a 1G iPod touch.
And a camera, seriously?
If it had a camera you would have known by now.

As to where you should get it...
Apple online is always good, but you have to wait for shipping.
The Apple store is a good option because you're giving your money to you favorite computer company.
And Best Buy has great warranties.

"What does a Touch do?"

Nothing until you've set it up. I stared at mine in the box, and all it could do then was reflect light.
 
I'm not a Noob, I'm a Noober! Thank you all for the replies and sorry for being a lazy noober! I dropped my Zune 1st Generation and now switching to Ipod Touch!

It might not be a switch in operating systems but at least he's doing some kinda switch from Microsoft to Apple.
You won't regret it.
