What can the base 13" Macbook Air handle this?

I currently own a Mid-2011 11.6" Macbook Air (base model), and am looking to purchase a 13" Macbook Air for more intensive applications. I'm doing this because my Macbook Air only has 2GB of RAM and lags quite a bit when I run applications like Adobe Photoshop. I asked around and everyone on the web is telling me to get a 13" Air instead of a 13" MBP. What I'm asking is, can the base 13" Macbook Air handle an application like Adobe Photoshop?

Yes, but if you're using the Adobe Suite I'd get a MBP for the RAM expandability.

I have a 2011 13" air with core i5 1.7ghz and 4 gb rams.

Im doing tshirt design with 300 dpi images, everything is smooth on this air except sometimes i really need more rams.

So make sure u're getting the air with 8gb of ram then everythin will be smooth.
