This keeps happening on my Mac Mini and it is becoming so annoying, it's several times a day at this point whenever my monitor goes to sleep. I thought it was my eGPU, but I'm using onboard only now and it's still happening. However my eGPU is having another issue where if I boot with it, I only get a green screen on the internal GPU and a black screen on the eGPU. So I have to boot into MacOS and then plug in the eGPU and it suddenly works. If I turn on the eGPU during MacOS it just crashes the whole system, so I have to leave that constantly on and just unplug and plug n the cable.
However I'm guessing since testing it's two entirely different issues. I've read that it is a common issue with Mojave, but then people say they have the issue on every version of the OS... so I dunno what to believe. The eGPU is that common one that has loads of great reviews and everyone uses, I tested it on Windows and it's fine there, so I know that isn't faulty.
