Hey guys,

here is my situation, I have one of our dinning room chairs as my desk chair but now I want something nicer.

I am looking for a chair which is super comfortable which I can sit my slobby arse on for a good 7 hours, something which I can lean back on and height adjust.

I am not on a tight budget but would like to spend around £45, maybe a little more if the right one came along but would rather not.

Key things:

MUST be black
Not bothered if it's not real leather
Mega comfortable

Any recommendations?

James

I am not sure how to read this. That seems like a tight budget to me. If you are not on a tight budget, I would recommend an Aeron chair by Herman Miller. I have had one for years and it is supper comfortable for someone who sits in it all day everyday, but it is about US$800.

Yeah, I was looking at those, but come on, a chair is a chair, there is only a certain amount of comfort isn't there?

Not really, after 7 hours in the chair the Aeron shines.

A cheap chair is a literal pain in the ass or back.

The Aeron isn't mega luxury comfort, but it shines at the end of the day when you can get up walk away and not take the chair's pain with you.

There is even a market difference between the full price chair, and their cheaper Herman Miller versions ... for some the lack of adjustability and the harder armrests make a difference and aren't as comfortable at the end of the day.

Why not a black chair? Are you a racist?

Jokes aside, it's hard to find a nice chair that isn't black. Herman Miller has a few nice looking ones that aren't colored.. so if you're a baller, that's your best bet.

My Aeron is just amazing. wouldn't trade it for any chair. The way I see it, if you're going to watch porn on overpriced computers, you might as well diddle yourself on an overpriced chair. :D

honestly, get a leather chair, i have a fake leather highback, its real comfy, but i get freaking hot in it. B/c of the pleather. Honestly, i could go into my last places basement and be cold, then sit in that chair and be toasty warm. Also having classic car that has vinyl seats, get leather, or youll be a hot sweaty mess.

i saw this thread title and thought there was going to be a reference to 'there is no chair' philosophically speaking or that you have decided a chair is superfluous. but no, you want a mega comfortable chair for £45, which, if you feel creative could also mean 'there is no chair'

which chair, indeed.

Clearly rdowns speaks from experience. Personally I found the Aeron the best chair to break wind in, he obviously found it the easiest to clean.

As for the OP - I suppose you could try out secondhand office furniture shops. £45 is not a lot for a 'mega comfortable' chair.

+1 for the Herman Miller Aeron. I got the fully optioned and Aluminium version of the Aeron and its oh-so comfortable. Decent chair with a decent warranty.

Look for mesh chairs with decent lower back support; or add that.

Buy an aeron if owning certain names is what it takes to impress people in your circle of friends... . but I doubt it is easily transportable to starbuck to sip half caffe decaffe lattes while surfing on the iphone and twittering on the macbook, unless of course the girl your with has a pack of salems.
