Hello,
I'm excitedly awaiting delivery of my new MBP - it's just been brought forward 2 weeks. Woo hoo!

Anyway, can anyone advise what should I check when I get it up and running? I've seen posts about checking the pixels and battery cycles, etc but am not sure what is essential.

I've had a look around the forums but can't see a list anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

Please don't flame me - I am new to this :)

Cheers.

The only thing I have had problems with were dead pixels.

My first 2 unibody pro's had them but the third one they gave me is flawless.

Your miles may vary...

pixels - you can use checker but when it boots up for first time just give it a glance over

bleeding - turn the screen black and check if there is an 'aurora' around the edge. a little bit is ok, but check other pictures for what is bad.

you will find yourself picking up little bits that you might not think is right.. but most of the things will be you being picky :) same with everyone.

it probably won't need calibrating when you get it either (if at all)

enjoy!
