I posted this a long time ago but I think was archived when the this forum was created.

Question: What Classic Videogame Are You Playing?

It can be on any classic console, emulated, or virtual console. Console or Computer Game.

Do you use the real hardware, virtual, or emulated? I actually know some people who have set up old computers (386's, 486's) to play classic computer games on the game's recommended system...

I'll start. Just recently played "Sega Bass Fishing" on Dreamcast...

I'm currently playing Final Fantasy 7 on PSP, occasionally playing Oracle of Seasons on GBC (real cart) then onto Oracle of Ages.

On the VC I'm playing through Super Metroid and loving every minute of it. They've got the exploration and desolation of Metroid but with clearer direction and interesting upgrades which is pretty much just what I wanted after the series black sheep Metroid Prime 3.

Final Fantasy 7 isn't classic. :D Ok, maybe it is, but I don't see it that way. :p

I own Oracle of Ages. The only reason I haven't finished it, is because I can't play it on my DS. I had played it up to the water dungeon on my GBA. My friend bought Oracles of Seasons.

I just beat Secret of Monkey Island on my DS and now I'm finally playing Ghouls 'n Ghosts Genesis on my Wii. And I started playing Star Control 2 under OS X along with "The Dig."

Pokemon Snap (only sort of classic though) and Zelda: OoT on the Wii, Super Mario World in a SNES emulator on my DS, and Super Mario Bros 2: The Lost Levels (Japanese-only) on the Wii again.

I started Zelda: Oracle of Ages a while ago, and I think I'll buy Super Metroid for the Wii virtual console. I've been playing the first two Mario Game Boy games a lot too.
Just got to the Elite Four on Pokemon Fire Red on my second play through as well (yes I know it came out in 2004, but it is a remake of the best game ever!)

Bust-A-Move :D First time I dug that out recently I spent a good 6 hours playing without noticing a thing >_>

I find myself playing numerous classic games, but never taking the time to finish them.
Breath of Fire 2 (SNES emulation)
Blaster Master (NES emulation)
Zelda: Ocarina and Majora's Mask (N64 emulation)
Numerous arcade games (MAME) - at least these don't necessarily have a (winning) finish

There's more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

i started to play ocarina of time on wii, but i got interrupted by super mario galaxy and guitar hero...and a ps3.

atm im playing golden eye with band mates ive missed playing as odd job in paint ball mode :)

How do you guys rate FF8? I'm thinking about giving this a whirl after FF7.

I keep all of my consoles hooked up, as I prefer the original pads the games were designed for, rather than emu's... that said, I currently have loaded up:

NES: SMB 3 <- one of the best games ever made, period
SNES: NBA Jam / Donkey Kong Country
Genesis: Sonic (don't enjoy it, but it's a classic, so it deserves the slot...)
N64: Perfect Dark / Mario Kart
PS: Driver 2

And the cube (not classic...) gets a good random selection, based on how much time I have to play (not much, usually).

Fatal Fury
Super Mario Bros 2 The Lost Levels..I think it was never released because its really hard..Imagine playing this when you were 6 :D

Hitman: Silent Assassin

That's about as Classic I will go. Progress is a good thing. Platformers or <=16bit games are not.
