Red/White or Black/White.
I have purple/white but I almost never wear them anymore... my black/white are so abused...

I would get the classics in grey or some other neutral colour and then purchase different coloured laces for them. Their laces are only like $2 so it's not a big expense. 
None of the above. Get some black converse or white air force ones for casual wear and get some nicer shoes for other uses.
Purple Vans FTW. Look great.
Do not buy converse, they suck ass.

You don't need to get Converse, I just meant that style, a ton of companies make them.
