how can you find what kind of chip is in your mac... ie: sawtooth, merom. can I look it up in about my mac? I have been trying to find what the macs have, but all I see are core 2 duo chips, what type of chip are they at now?

Why do you want to know? ...Are you trying to confirm that you got a Santa Rosa MBP?

The computer doesn't tell you the name, but there are other ways of figuring it out.

I know I have a g4 processor and 512 of ram.. but what type of G4 chip.. what other ways are there of figuring out, for my own silly knowledge I guess..

for instance, in core2duo chips, there is conroe, merom, and allendale. does that go the same with G4 chips? and what version of C2D are in the newer macs, and what is everyone waiting for them to use?
