Hey can anyone tell me what DAC is being used for audio in the 2014 13" Macbook Pro? In the system report it just says "Intel HD audio". I just got an Aune X7S headphone amp which can be fed via a 3.5mm to RCA from my Mac. I also have a Micca Origen+ DAC/amp and I'm swapping back and forth to test the sound quality. I do notice an improvement in the sound when using the Micca DAC instead of the MBP's DAC. I'm just curious to know what Apple used in the 2014 model. I tried to look on iFixit but couldn't find the teardown for the 2014 model. The 2015 model is there and it has the Cirrus 4208-CRZ Two-Channel Low Power HD Audio Codec.

EDIT: Okay so I found this when searching online --> http://www.audioappraisal.com/sound-surprise-macbook-pro-2015-audio-hardware/. Seems that the 2014 and 2015 MBP has the same DAC although accord to this person the 2015 does sound better. In any event I guess I now know my answer.
