What device can help me with this....?

I just got an HD camcorder and I also have an DSLR camera that I take with me when I travel.

I almost always take my laptop with me, but I'd like to buy a device that would let me download the pictures and videos I take so I can erase the SD cards and keep on shooting, when I travel without my laptop.

So far I feel a bit enslaved, I HAVE to take the laptop with me, and for a short 2 or 3 days trip I could do without the added weight/bulk. I have an iPod touch so I can check my e-mail if I need to.

what's out there that'll solve this issue?

They make a portable external HDD that includes a card reader for download on the go, but I can't seem to find one.

more cards will be far cheaper than a self-sustained HD backup unit.
