OK. I'm not sure WTF I did but I must have done something as the volume, and basically the entire Function row of my wireless Magic Keyboard is acting weird.

Today, I was trying to turn the volume down on some audio and it was just showing the entire desktop. None of the other keys of that top row were working as usual either. I'm not really a Function key person but in trying to fix it, I pressed the fn and then F11 and then the "standard" function of those keys started working. I hope I am explaining it correctly. So in order to be able to change the volume now, I have to use the function key when I never had to before.

It's basically Opposite Day on my F row of keys and I can't figure out how to fix it. I have gone into settings and restored defaults on everything, unpaired and re-paired the keyboard, rebooted, etc.

Anyone know how to fix?

Go to System Preferences > Keyboard. To uncheck the setting for use F1, &c as standard function keys.

OMG thank you!!!! I'm on Ventura and that option is kinda buried so I don't even know how that got changed. I had to do a Search for "Function" to get find it after your helpful suggestion.

Go to System Preferences > Keyboard. To uncheck the setting for use F1, &c as standard function keys.

It's actually buried deeper in Ventura (just FYI for those with Ventura):

System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts... > Function Keys
