What do I have to check, once I get the 15 rMBP?

So Im gonna get a 15mbpr now, but got some things on my mind:

1. Has Apple fixed anything yet? As far as I know there are 2 known problems: The ghosting and the image retention (not sure though how you call it) or are the machines I would buy now the same they have been in June?
2. How can I check whether my Macbook has one of the above named issues?
3. How long is the warranty? Isnt Apple obligated to give 2 years warranty in Europe due to the law? So is this whole Apple Care thing useless for people livin in Europe? Hope you can help me

Dead pixel and scratched screen.

Um... your bank acct is the first thing that comes to mind.

More seriously, check whether it's a Samsung (might still be) or an LG. That's for your general knowledge. Then check for IR issues. Open a checkerboard image and leave it there for 20-25 minutes. Then minimize. If you still have the checkered pattern, then you've got IR. It's up to you to see whether it's massive or if you can live with it. Of course, you might have none, like many of us.

Heating issues, like the CPU and GPU share the same heat pipe, and the GPU is factory overclocked.
