I am very close to buying an iMac now, it has been a long long wait but I am finally there.....just about.

The thing is, is that I dont want to overspend, but I also want a machine that will last me a long time.

My Current PC has lasted me about 7 years which is pretty good going.

I plan to get the 24" iMac but I am unsure weather I really need the 2.8, sure it is nice to have but is it really needed for me.

I will mainly be using the iMac for internet, garageband, imovie, iphoto, photshop, dreamweaver etc

I plan to max out on RAM anyway from crucial but I want somthing that will last me a fair few years.

Thanks for any help

Getting 2.8GHz may not make a difference to you now, but it will be nice in the long term...you'll end up making use of this Mac maybe long enough so that your next Mac is a generation past what it would be if you buy the 20"...

I forgot to say that I will also be running windows on it.
