I just got the new alm Mb last week and i want to get a external hardrive to store all my files on but i dont really want to spend all that money on a time capsule if there is a better or equal solution out there. What external hard drives do u guys use i'm looking for in between like 500gb and 1 TB what do u recommend???

There are some really nice Western Digital external hard drive out there, I have the 640GB MyBook and it's amazing.
I've also heard that Lacie isn't too bad.

Not fond of Western Digital myself, Maxtor always used to be crap but may have improved. Never had an issue with Seagate though.

as for enclosures.. I like the Macpower Pleiades - they look nice :p
and they're fanless, so nice and quiet

Lacie seems to inspire either deep love or total hatred amongst its users..

I posted in another thread. I'm using Buffalo 500GB 2.5" portable HDD, it's good and convenient due to USB cable integrated in the case. It also feature Hitachi HDD with fall-sensor that stops in event of shock.

For external HDD in 3.5", I used WD My Studio II made for MAC.
