I carry it in my Incase Neoprene case along with my Speck SeeThru case.
I dont really have a backpack specified for MBP but just a normal one like North Face and JanSport.

Oh no! Its the opposite of scratching your MBP!
It really does protect it!

Ive hit the corner of my MBP, dropped things on the lid, etc etc.
Yet my case took all the blame and protected it from scratches!

However, 2 cons...
1. Heat is being trapped inside the case. There are vents on the case but, it gets tiny bit hotter compared to noncase MBPs.

2. Dirt gets trapped inside. Dead skin cells, dirts, dust, etc gets trapped inside between the case and MBP. So I advise you to take it off like once or twice every 6 month and clean it with a microfiber.

That's the exact setup I use too. Black Incase Neoprene case with my clear black Speck SeeThru case. I carry that in my black Swiss laptop backpack.

I use a £1 or 50 cents sleeve haha.

Then pop it into my Oakley Icon 3.0 backpack. MBP is slightly too big to go through the side zip though although it's made for 15" laptops :(

Yupp! To me I think this is the best.
It may not provide the best protection comparing to "Laptop Backpacks", but I feel that this is enough.

I mean if will protect it against bumping into walls and people but definitely not a fall to a concrete floor.
But again, thats the same compared to many laptop backpacks.

Be careful of the Neoprene. The zipper scratched my last MBP (even though it has a protective layer). I vowed to never use that sleeve again.

I either use a racerx bag from waterfield when I take my laptop or Tom Bihn's Brain Bag if I'm flying.

Both are great bags, racerx is a great for those short trips, and the backpack for longer trips or flying :)

Oakley Kitchen Sink backpack, along with a second laptop, external drives, cables, internal drives, SD cards, RAM modules, screw driver sets, boots, AirPrint network adapter and some other items.
