I'm replacing my two iPhone 3G's with two iPhone 4's (one for my honey). I did a search, but couldn't find anything on this question... What do you do with your old 3G (or 3GS)? Can you simply give it to a friend who has an old 2G iPhone?

Thanks,

Dan.

Turn it into an iPod Touch. I'm giving it to my grandmother. She loves the games. :D

yes your can give it to a friend just take out your sim obviously. Even though apple will send you a new one..

trade it in

Full disclosure- I used to work for the company when it was just a wee little start up. I am going to sell my 3G on gazelle.com. My quote was for around 100 bucks- no ebay hassle. Check it out for yourself - not trying to pitch it - just letting people know.

International Skype phone and iPod player. Not so worried about losing it/breaking it now that I've got a 4 coming.

I was going to gazelle it too, quoted about $115 or so... that was until I cracked my screen two days ago. :(

Or if you guys were happy with your phone and no longer need it, you can send it to, HAPPY DUDE, 742 Evergreen Terrace, Springfield. Don't delay! Eternal happiness is just an iPhone away...

iPod touch for kid and hard use situations

I'm just going to use it as an iPod touch for when I'm mowing the lawn or working outside, or anywhere I want to listen to music but don't want to use my nice new 4.

I'm also going to keep the kids games on it for when my son wants to play a game while we're at a restaurant or something. (he's five, and a wizard at Monster Truck Nitro II)

In case anyone is feeling particularly "giving" i wouldn't receiving one of them phones.... just PM me ;)

I've been considering that. Got a box sent to me today so that if I decide to use them I can get my 3GS out the same day as I get the 4. Am also thinking of eBay with a good enough reserve to make putting up with everything worth it and have it end the day before iPhone 4 launch so if it doesn't sell I can waste no time using Gazelle.
