Seems like Apple has a big booth at some upcoming conference!

What do you guys hope to see? 13" and 17" MBPs? Final price cuts for PowerMacs? :D

FYI: Apple didn't acknowledge their 20th birthday until 13 months after it happened. Apple turned 20 on April 1, 1996, but the 20th Anniversary Mac wasn't released until May of 1997.

As for NAB:

Final Cut Studio 6
Possibly a very high-end editing software to compete with Avid (Final Cut Extreme?)
17" MBP

I'm pretty sure there are going to be some minor updates to the current 15" MBP's as well as the alleged release of the 17".

If the 17" is geared towards the video professionals there is no way that they can not include a DL Superdrive.

Also with the Intel price cuts they could easily do another processor shuffle. The 2.16 is slated to dop to the current price of the 2.0.

Low end MBP 15" 2 Ghz
High end MBP 15" 2.16 Ghz with an option of 2.33Ghz

Low end 17" MBP 2.16Ghz
High end 17" MBP 2.33 Ghz with 7200rpm drive as standard.

DL Superdrives standard on all machines. Maybe a higher end video card for the 17" MBP's

I also think we will see those products along with a new 30" Cinema Display.

Im wondering if apple will really release something new so soon after a "revised" final cut studio was released? Has NAB tradtionally been a platform for Apple to release new hardware?

no , which is why i don't think they will release the new mbps there

The longer they wait the more certain I am that 15" MBP buyers are going to feel so burned when Apple unveil the new form factors...

That happened the last time for the TiBook didn't it?

i'm praying for final cut pro 6/studio updates with motion 3 etc.... but i don't think it will happen because they just updated final cut studio for intel, so an update prob won't happen till like MWSF. (isn't that when they normally announce FC upgrades)

excellent, so its just round the corner! i thought that one of the benefits of switching to intel chips was that we would see more frequent processor updates? I will therefore be dissapointed if the processors aren't bumped slightly!

would apple be the type of company to update its processors every few months?

interesting. i think apple will be forced to adapt to how fast intel upgrades there stuff. especially if they want to directly compete with the windows pc market.

That seems to be the way it is now, but that's a recent development (mostly as the G4 development slowed down so much). 6 months used to be about standard.
