What do you expect in the new iBooks, I know there are some other threads about this, but what do you expect?

If you are going to say "not another one" or something like that... don't post.

Ok, here's my guess:

12"
Combo Drive
1.33 GHz PowerPC G4 Processor
512MB RAM
40GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 with 64MB VRAM

14"
Combo Drive
1.5 GHz PowerPC G4 Processor
512MB RAM
80GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 with 64MB VRAM

14"
SuperDrive
1.5 GHz PowerPC G4 Processor
512MB RAM
80GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 with 64MB VRAM

I think they also might get some new features such as Bluetooth and/or Scrolling Trackpad.

They aren't going to make the iBook that close to the Powerbook, so I highly doubt there would be a 1.5 GHz iBook. I think it's more likely they do something with the screens, maybe keep them at the 4:3 aspect ratio, but increase the resolution.

Good point, but I think that the iBook updates would be accompanied by a PB update (or a PB update would happen shortly after) as the PB is approaching end of cycle too.

Sure they can. Before the last PB update and after the last iBook update (so between Oct 04' and Jan 05') they both had the same 1.33GHz processor in the 14" iBook and the 12" and base 15" PB.

similar to what Sam I Am posted

I don't believe Apple makes a 1.46 GHz chip. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure... I think 1.5 GHz is most likely, followed by 1.42 GHz.

Since the iBook runs on a 133MHz bus, I'm thinking the CPU speed bumps would go something like this:

1.2 GHz (133 x 9)
1.33 GHz (133 x 10)
1.46 GHz (133 x 11)
1.6 GHz (133 x 12)

my guess;

the same size displays

minimal speed bumps....low end at 1.33, mid & high end at 1.42 (or 1.46 or whatever it is)

ram....low end still at 256, mid & high end at 512

64MB video cards for all

airport built-in for all
