I heard there were problems with the 2008 editions or something and I was wondering if Apple finally fix the hinge problem on the mid 2010 macbook pros.

For all of you that got it, what do you have to say about the hinge?

I don't need to replace it. Sure I would like to close the lid without it creaking, but I'll deal with it.

I had a 15" MBP that had some minor hinge issues: sometimes creaked when it closed, and the tension was lighter than I would have liked it to be. I recently got a new 13" BMP and have had no hinge issues at all. The tension is perfect and so far no creaks. No complaints here!

I find my 13" to be awesome.

No creaking or alignment issues like a few unlucky users I have seen on here.

Did the plastic cover crack on yours?

My L08 Unibody (1st gen unibody) 2.53GHz cracked. Hairline cracks were all over the hinge. And the repair is EXPENSIVE. No issues whatsoever, just that I have to live with the stress.

My new i7 however is still quite new. If ANY laptop had a smidgen of a hairline crack at this stage in its life then the company just deserves to disappear. But then again my i7 still is pristine.:D Save for the guy with the oily fingers who was touching my screen yesterday
