Hey guys,,,

i just wonder what people are using to play videos when Quicktime just plays a limited number of formats...

myself..i use VLC ..but i would love to use quicktime with perian & WMV4Mac..
the little feature that you still see the video playing while minimized is cool..
and the whole player looks better..

.. i just cant figure what would give me the best quality..

so lets see what your using and why ?!

I use QT+Perian+Flip4Mac as it just about covers all formats. I also have Real Player because the BBC are morons and refuse to support anything else for online radio and news vids.

Mostly QT with plugins, although VLC does come out occasionally. It seems it deals with errors in AVI files better than Perian does.

I use QT+Perian+Flip4Mac so I can see the video previews in the Finder. :D But VLC for watching all unusual formats, especially if the file contains softsubs or I have a separate subtitle file.

I use a projector to watch a lot of my media so it is pretty essential to have it full screen so i use VLC. I know i could use quicktime and run the script to get it to work full screen, as i used to but this method is just far easier.

I use QT plus Perian and Flip when I hook my MacBook into the TV to play with front row. But when watching on my MacBook, I use VLC. VLC gives me the volume boost I need to be able to hear if there is any background noise.
